Foveaux Harmony Chorus is part of a worldwide organisation called Sweet Adelines. The chorus started more than 12 years ago and has been entertaining audiences both in Invercargill and elsewhere.
This is a chorus for women who love to sing four part harmony and without accompaniment. The repertoire differs from traditional barbershop to more modern music and we love to entertain with our music and our showmanship.
You are always welcome to visit us during a rehearsal. You can find us at 150 Don Street, across from Middle School. We rehearse from 7pm until 9.30pm.
New members are always welcome! Please take the chance to visit, this maybe something just for you!
For more information look under the "Join the chorus" link.
Open Night is coming soon and we would love to have you come along to 150 Don Street to get a feel for who we are and what we do. Once you meet us you will be hooked.

Sweet Adelines arrange competitions for choruses and quartets and the Foveaux Harmony Chorus has been to many national competitions.
The highlight in competing was in 2008 when the chorus attended the national competitions in Hamilton and was awarded "The most improved chorus in New Zealand", which rendered us a gold medal in the small chorus division and a bronze medal over all.
In 2009 the competition was held in Auckland and we attended with a smaller group achieving a third place in the small chorus division and a fourth place over all.
Someone may have read in the paper about a smaller group from the chorus attending the 2007 International Competitions with the Christchurch City Chorus. This was an amazing experience for those who went and the group was able to bring new knowledge back to the chorus. In February 2009 another small group went with Christchurch City Chorus to New York and sang in a Concert at Carnegie Hall.
To be part of a barbershop chorus can give you amazing opportunities to travel and meet wonderful people.
